GPS coordinates are used while your shoe is active to verify walking displacement and rule out vehicle movement. Raw coordinates are never stored on our servers or shared with third parties — only your displacement distance is retained.
Accelerometer readings validate your walking gait as part of our anti-cheat system. This data is processed on-device in real time and is never stored or transmitted.
Step counts, daily history, streaks, goals, shoes, inventory, and Foot Prints currency are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your personal Firebase account for backup and cross-device restore.
If you choose to link a Google account, we receive your display name, email address, and profile photo from Google Sign-In. Linking is optional and only required for leaderboard participation. Your display name, step count, streak length, and equipped shoe appearance are visible to other players when you compete.
WALKn uses Google AdMob to serve ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage signals. See Google's privacy policy for details.
If you submit a bug report or suggestion through the app, the submission text and your user ID are stored in our database. We use this only to respond to and improve the app.

Local data remains on your device until you uninstall the app or delete your account. Cloud-synced data — including your game state, leaderboard entries, and settings — is permanently deleted when you use Profile → Account → Delete Account. This action cannot be undone.
WALKn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
